Aware Defeat Depression is a registered charity working exclusively with and for people with depression, providing services for them, their carers, the public, schools and health professionals. The people who use our services are represented at every level of our organisation and are included on the Board of Directors. This is because many of them have chosen to become trained volunteers, delivering services alongside staff and supporting other people with depression to get better. This approach to mental health service provision is unique to Aware Defeat Depression and ensures that the people who use our services are involved in their development as well as delivery. Volunteers and staff work together with mental health professionals, to provide the best possible self-help support services for people with depression, in Northern Ireland.
